Advocacy targets

Version 1.0.1 · Public sources checked 22 September 2026

Start with organisations that support patient participation and practical communication. These are potential reviewers, not partners or endorsers. Contact routes below are public organisation inboxes; no named staff member is assumed to hold a role.

First approaches

Irish Patients' Association · info@irishpatients.ie

Verified source: https://www.irishpatients.ie/contact

Its official page describes a free, independent patient advocacy service. Ask whether the blank appointment sheet is clear and useful, and what might make it burdensome or easy to misunderstand. A general resource-review request is distinct from asking it to take on an individual advocacy case.

IPPOSI (Irish Platform for Patients' Organisations, Science & Industry) · info@ipposi.ie

Verified sources: https://ipposi.ie/ and https://ipposi.ie/contact/

Its official pages describe patient involvement and health information work. Ask for written feedback on the proposal and whether there is an appropriate route to patient-led usability review. Do not imply membership or a formal project partnership.

Patients for Patient Safety Ireland · info@patientsforpatientsafety.ie

Verified source: https://patientsforpatientsafety.ie/ (official page indexed by web search on the verification date; direct page retrieval timed out). Corroboration: HSE Quality and Patient Safety Matters, April 2025, https://assets.hse.ie/media/documents/Quality-and-Patient-Safety-Matters-Edition-1-April-2025.pdf

The official search result describes collaborative patient-safety work and publishes this inbox; the HSE publication also identifies the group and address. Ask specifically about safety wording, misunderstanding versus sign-off, and the risk of shifting coordination work onto patients. Recheck the inbox on the official page before later campaigns.

Later groups, after initial feedback

Condition-specific patient organisations; family-carer and disability groups; health-literacy and accessible-information groups; community pharmacists; primary-care patient participation groups. Identify and verify individual organisations and their contact routes before naming them in outreach. Include people who find forms, reading or organising paperwork difficult, not only confident advocates.

Outreach method

Send the neutral one-page brief and a blank appointment sheet. Ask for a short written response, with no personal health details. Do not send completed folders or enrol anyone automatically. Review each draft individually. There is no scheduled chase or automatic mailing list. Record replies and permission before describing anyone as a collaborator.
